Christ is Risen

Happy Easter Everyone!

I hope you all have a blessed and wonderful Easter, being with family and remembering this day as Christ is risen!

Romans 6:4

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Joy in Dyed Eggs

Dying eggs is risky business with two toddlers who get over excited and have had more incidents of being clumsy. Cups full of sparkling dyes set in front of them, they saw it as a mission to dye each egg to it's perfection. They actually did really well, only having a splash or two fall onto the table, but they took it so maturely and couldn't wait till the eggs dried to eat them.
I remember as a kid loving to dye Easter eggs. It made it more interesting and it was a treat since we only did it once a year.

.....

Will I ever fully understand the gravity that God's child died for me? God loved us so much that He has His child die for us, people who had sinned. He had His child die for me because He loved me.
It's something that I don't think about as much as I need. That I am alive because God was willing to have His son die for my life, so I would be free from my sins. How undeserving I am, but so fortunate of a loving Savior.

"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son..."

If I Were A Book...

For a gift, my Aunt sent me a Smash Book. I had heard about them faintly, but as soon as I opened it, I could see my destiny appearing. The 2-in-1 pen/glue stick, the colorful pages and the ability to put whatever I wanted to put in there. That's my idea of a great journal. This gift was perfect for me because before that I would collect little pieces of memories that was valuable to me but not quite knowing what to do with it.
What I put in there is different each time and even more random than the last. It reminds me of scrap booking but then it's has more liberties to paste and smash. Anything can go! I guess that's why they call is Smash Book.

Do you guys have your own version of a Smash Book? What is yours filled with?

Exciting, Wonderful, Big News!

Hello Everyone!

I am back to blogging. My spring break was restful and filled with bus rides, staying up late watching TV shows, going to potlucks and being around Godly, lovable people that make life happy. Now that I am back in school,  I realize that the stress that comes with it once again. I had shoved him under my bed with my old notebooks for spring break, but that only works for so long. Oh well, he's not always bad company if I keep him under my watch.

Last week I left saying I had some news. Big news!

Can you guess where I'm going?

Tah- Dah!

My mom and I are going to fly out for my 17th birthday so we can spend it in New York. This will be my first time visiting the grand city. I will stick out with my camera, looking like every other tourist, but what can you do? It's New York, you have to take pictures!

My first stop will be seeing Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. My favorite TV shows that airs so late here in my hometown.  He's sweet and always so personal and I have always wanted to go see one of his shows.
Of course I will see all the main highlights New York is known for! Central Park, Times Square, Museum of Natural History, Grand Central, Empire State building and more!
One of our goals will be to eat from a New York food vendor and take a taxi somewhere to get the real feel of the city. And possibly feed some pigeons (joking! But maybe only half joking!)
My mom and I will also be staying at a hostel, which are inexpensive and an interesting place to lodge while traveling. It will be my first time sleeping in a hostel, so I am curious what the experience will be.
I will be going in June, which is a few months from now but I am starting to plan. I bought this guide especially so I can highlight and plan ahead so we don't get lost in the hustle and bustle. I cannot tell you how excited I am and am going to be when I am on that airplane. Hurry up June!

Have any of you been to New York before? Any insider tips or places/food that I should try?

Stress, Spring Break and Simply Doing Nothing

Hello Everyone!

I am writing to let you guys know I am going to take blogging off for spring break. This past week I have been overly stressed with school and other life decisions. Dealing with awkward situations, finishing major assignments and yeah, just stress. I want to dedicate my spring break to be relaxing and to collect myself once again when school starts.
I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing spring break. Make sure to sleep in, read books and write poetry. (You don't really have to!) Make this time to gather yourself again and regain your wits. Going on outings with friends or simply doing nothing. That is the glory of spring break in the school world. Whew, I feel so relived!
When I come back I want to hear all about your break and have some exciting news to tell about!

God Bless!

Pepper :)

Love Letters

Love Letters.

A pair of two separate words joined together to create something lovely.
I am a hopeless romantic at heart. I've dreamed too many nights about receiving a love letter. A letter that will make my heart flutter away and my cheeks blush. A letter where the words will be so dazzling they melt off the paper and pour into my soul. As you can see, I have put a lot of thought into this.

It wouldn't matter if the sender didn't have a writer's bone in his body, but when he wrote to me, he made simple words come together and form beautiful sentences, for me.

I want to write love letters too. To the man I marry, I want to write him words that can express my love for him. Lyrical, mystical, magical, Godly words that can be saved forever. Words that will go in the closet and come out ten, twenty, fifty years later smelling like old ink and has brittle pages from being opened too many times to count. Words that will still hold the same effect as when they were first written. Words of love and blessings. Words that show a beginning.

I am still in awe of words. They power they hold. To create and destroy. To bring emotion out of the reader. However they are arranged, they can hold so much meaning and do so much. Everywhere I go, there are words.
And the choice is how are we going to use them.

Would you want to receive a love letter? And from who?
